Introduction to ‘EAL Teaching through the Learning Village’ workshop

Caroline Scott, Author & Director at Across Cultures will be running workshops on the Learning Village at the EAL Conference ‘SURVIVING, STRIVING AND THRIVING’ run by the Havering Ethnic Minority Achievement Team in Rainham on Wednesday 22 February 2017.

Keynote speakers:

  • Catherine Gladwell, Refugee Support Network
  • Constant Leung, Kings College London, and
  • Stephen Turp, FFT Aspire

Workshops include:

  • Educational challenges for asylum-seekers
  • Formative and summative assessment of EAL learners
  • Using FFT Aspire to identify progress and attainment risks and potential
  • The Learning Village online learning tool for EAL learners
