Across Cultures partners with Still I Rise to support learners in Yemen

Across Cultures has announced that it will be teaming up with the humanitarian organisation, Still I Rise, to help deliver high-quality educational support at their emergency school in Yemen.

Still I Rise, which was founded in 2018, provides emergency education to refugees and vulnerable children and, to date, the organisation has opened seven schools in some of the most deprived and war-torn parts of the world.

As part of its ten-year anniversary celebrations, Across Cultures will be using 1% of every new and renewed Learning Village membership to support charities and organisations such as Still I Rise.

Across Culture’s Director, Caroline Scott, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be entering into a partnership with Still I Rise to support 54 learners in Yemen.

“We will be training their staff at the emergency school and setting up their learners with our blended learning platform, Learning Village, for a 12-month period.

“For the next year we will be tracking learners’ progress, and we look forward to seeing them move towards and attain Still I Rise’s target English level of CEFR Level B2.”

More about Still I Rise in Yemen

Still I Rise, an independent humanitarian organisation, established its Emergency and Rehabilitation School in Yemen in November 2023, located in the city of Aden. This initiative addresses the urgent needs of children affected by over a decade of civil war, providing them with access to quality education, nutrition, and psychosocial support. The school, known as “Lana”, offers an accelerated learning program designed to reintegrate children into the formal education system, helping them recover lost school years and reclaim their right to a dignified childhood. Beyond academics, students engage in community initiatives, such as visiting the paediatric oncology centre in Aden, where they deliver essential supplies and bring joy to young patients. This fosters a sense of solidarity and active citizenship. Through this holistic approach, Still I Rise is making a profound impact on the lives of Yemen’s most vulnerable children.
